Rolling linear guide pair is a widely used functional component in today's CNC machine tools. The slide table transmission device composed of it will have a significant impact on the machining accuracy of the machine tool.

The rolling linear guide pair has the advantages of low dynamic and static friction coefficient, high load-bearing capacity, good rigidity, and long service life. It is also easy to process and assemble, and can achieve high feed speed and guidance accuracy. However, in practical work, it is achieved through limited point or line contact between the guide rail and the rolling elements, and compared with traditional sliding guides, it has the characteristic of poor anti vibration performance.

In order to improve the anti vibration performance of rolling linear guide pairs, a structural model, oil film damping principle, experimental design, and functional verification of a damper for rolling linear guide pairs are proposed.

Experiments have shown that dampers can effectively improve the anti vibration performance of rolling linear guide pairs. In addition, the damper has been functionally validated on the machine tool. When the machine tool guide rail pair is equipped with a damper, it can improve the surface quality of the workpiece and reduce tool wear.

This reflects that dampers can effectively reduce the amplitude of self-excited vibration generated by cutting tools.
