How to install guide rails - Introduction to the production process of linear guide rails
The first step is the production of guide rails, which is a series of processes that have been completed before the raw steel enters the factory. The guide rails produced by the guide rail factory are first roughly ground (dovetail groove grinding), with a margin of about 40-50 threads, then straightened, and then roughly ground and straightened on the upper surface. The semi-finished product with a margin of 2 threads is then finished, and the dovetail groove and upper surface are straightened after reaching the standard error value, and then CNC gantry milling drills are used (some manufacturers also use CNC drilling machines for modification). After the above steps are completed, testing is required, mainly including surface smoothness testing, dimensional tolerance testing, straightness testing, dovetail groove hardness testing, up and down jumping testing, and lateral swing testing in conjunction with the slider. After the testing is completed, the production of the guide rail is completed.
Secondly, the production of the slider. Also, it is mainly produced by steel mills through mold opening. Basic wool is a slider material of about 6 meters. Firstly, shear the wool (cutting machine), and then cut the surface on a CNC milling machine to remove excess. The general tolerance is around 10 lines. Imported products from abroad will be finished in the middle, grinding out delicate knives in the middle of the slider.
Next is the milling machine, how to install abrasive guides instead of milling cutters to grind the channel (some foreign factories will carry out better ball raceway grinders). After this step is completed, the processes of different factories will start to vary, some are surface shot blasting, some are direct heat treatment, and some are directly sprayed with a layer of black paint. After heat treatment, grind the upper surface according to the tolerance between the raceway and the upper surface (basically controlled within the specified value), and there will be a grinding reference surface on the left and right sides.
Once again, drill the hole. Some manufacturers drill holes before heat treatment to save process time, and testing is also required during drilling, mainly to test the diameter of the raceway. For example, if the hole is 7 larger or smaller than the standard hole, i.e. -7. When the product arrives at the assembly workshop, workers manually pour steel balls, and the size of the steel balls is also selected based on tolerances, so the size of the steel balls for each slider will be different. Plastic circulators (end caps) will be used during assembly. Scraper, inner cage, outer cage, and nozzle. And then conduct a sampling inspection on the slider, match it with the guide rail, detect lateral swing and radial runout, and if they are all qualified and there are no problems, they can leave the factory.
