Hiwin HG Series Linear Rails

Linear guide rail, also known as line rail, slide rail, linear guide rail, or linear slide rail, is used for linear reciprocating motion and can withstand a certain torque, achieving high-precision linear motion under high load conditions. In mainland China, it is called linear guide rail, while in Taiwan it is generally called linear guide rail. As one of the core components of equipment, the guide rail plays a role in guiding and supporting. In order to ensure high machining accuracy of the machine, it is required that its guide rails have high guiding accuracy and good motion stability. During the operation of the equipment, a large amount of corrosive dust and smoke will be generated during the processing of the workpiece. These smoke and dust will accumulate on the surface of the guide rail for a long time, which has a great impact on the machining accuracy of the equipment and will form corrosion points on the surface of the guide rail, shortening the service life of the equipment. In order to ensure the normal and stable operation of the machine and the processing quality of the product, it is necessary to carefully carry out daily maintenance of the guide rail.  

Maintenance steps for linear guides:

Attention: Please prepare dry cotton cloth and lubricating oil for cleaning the guide rail

1. Clean the surface of the guide rail with a clean cotton cloth to remove any dust or dirt from the surface;

2. Apply a layer of rust proof oil evenly on the surface;

3. Use suitable lubricating oil or grease to replenish the slider, with a volume of 0.3~0.5cc (lubricating oil) or 3~4cc (lubricating grease) each time. After the first addition, move the slider back and forth two to three times (the distance between the lengths of the two sliders) to ensure even distribution of lubricating oil/grease;

4. Check if the lubrication is normal.
