Why is lubrication of linear guides so important?
As a mechanical linear motion guiding component, lubrication is crucial for maintaining its performance for a long time. Not only does it need to reduce the user burden caused by lubrication maintenance, but it also needs to reduce the frequency of equipment downtime caused by maintenance and improve production efficiency.
Since 1996, NSK has been the first to develop and sell the lubrication unit NSKK1, which can provide long-term lubricating oil for linear guides. Over the past 20 years, it has contributed to the long-term maintenance free operation of machinery. In addition, the clean lubrication method has also improved the usage environment. With the development of smart factories in recent years, there is an increasing demand for extending maintenance cycles. Furthermore, from an environmental perspective, there is an increasing demand for energy conservation and environmental protection.
To meet these requirements, NSK has developed a new lubrication unit NSKK1-L that can significantly improve lubrication supply capacity.
1. Significantly improve lubrication supply capacity
The lubrication unit NSKK1 is composed of resin containing a large amount of lubricating oil, and the internal lubricating oil can continuously leak out to provide lubricating oil to the linear guide rail for a long time. The new lubrication unit NSKK1-L adopts newly developed materials, which increases the lubrication supply time to about twice that of existing products.
2. Reduce dynamic friction
The lubrication unit NSKK1-L has optimized its contact structure with the guide rail, reducing the dynamic friction force during slider drive by about 20%.

The high-speed durability test results of the linear guide with only lubrication unit installed show that the running distance of the linear guide with NSKK1-L is significantly increased compared to the linear guide with the current NSKK1, contributing to the further long-term maintenance free operation of the machinery.
