Technically speaking, linear guides are mainly composed of a rolling cycle system, a smooth system, and a dust-proof system. The rolling cycle system mainly includes: slider → slide rail → end cover → steel ball → steel ball retainer, which is the key point determining the smoothness of the slider.

The dust-proof system includes: oil scraper → bottom dust sealing dust-proof sheet → sliding rail bolt cover → metal scraper. We can choose dust-proof accessories according to our own needs. The smooth system includes oil nozzles and oil pipe joints. Unlike traditional guide rails, linear guide rails reserve oil measuring holes on the side of the end cover to install oil nozzles. Therefore, linear guide rails have two methods: lateral oil spraying and active oil supply. We can choose the oil supply method according to our own needs.

In fact, there are some differences between different types of linear guides. Ball guides use balls as the rolling bearing part, while roller guides use cylinders as the rolling bearing part. They are both important rolling components that connect the guide rail and the slider, and are the rollers that allow the slider to freely and repeatedly move on the guide rail.

The sealing performance of linear guides directly affects their service life, especially in environments such as cutting machines that produce pollution such as powder and cutting debris.
